  • Tidal Volume (TV) - 500 ml               
  • Inspiratory Reserve Volume (IRV): 2000 to 3200 ml 
  • Expiratory Reserve Volume (ERV): 750 to 1000 ml 
  • Residual Volume (RV): 1200 ml                                    
  • Inspiratory capacity =IRV + TV:  2500 to 3700 ml                              
  • Vital capacity – IRV + TV + ERV:  4 to 5L   
  • Functional Residual Capacity: ERV+RV = 2300 to 2500 ml                   
  • Total Lung capacity: 6L
