Claude Bernard in 1849, a French Physiologist, coined the term Internal Environment (milieu interior) for Extracellular Fluid of the body.

He is known as Father of Modern Physiology

All the cells in the body depend upon ECF for the maintenance provided there is proper concentration of nutrients in it.
